Easter

I loved Easter this year. We just had such a good feeling in our home all day.  We decided to have the boys look for their baskets before church and then after our Easter dinner we would do an egg hunt.  The  Easter bunny did something different this year and tied a string from the kids beds to their baskets.  It was pretty funny to watch as Brayden went.....
all through the house....
 Outside...
 through the fence...
 through Daddy's car....
In the garage...
And eventually found his basket in the dryer!
Guy (a.k.a. Easter bunny) found this huge dump truck for a dollar at a garage sale earlier in the month so we thought it would be a fun Easter basket for Brayden this year :)
 Working on a tough puzzle
 And Tyler.....
Well he woke up a little too grouchy to think this was a fun idea.
But once he got that Easter basket life was good again!
Bubbles make him happy, and I must say the no-spill bubble holders make me soo happy! He can do it all by himself and it never spills!
 His very own chocolate bunny
We tried taking a few pictures before church of the boys all dressed up, which is always a hard task. Tyler would only do it if he could hold his ball and not have anyone touching him!
These are the best we got. I have no idea why Brayden's hands are in the air but at least they are both looking at the camera :) Success!
After church we had a yummy Easter dinner and then had a quick FHE and talked with Brayden about what Easter is really about. We watched the Easter video on lds.org and then ended up watching the mormon messages videos for about an hour. Every time we finished one, Brayden would click on another one.  It really was a nice way to spend the afternoon and the spirit was so strong in our home. I could tell how much each of messages in the videos were touching Brayden and I just felt grateful. Grateful to be a member of the church, grateful to have a family and to be a mommy, and so grateful for our Savior who gave his life for us.
We had a quick egg hunt after Tyler woke up from his nap. We had planned on doing it outside but it started to rain so we moved it to the Family room.
Look at all those eggs! This was one of my favorite Easters. The only thing that would have made it better was to be with our families.  We missed everyone SO much!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

We love the neighborhood we live in right now!  They do so many fun activities every month and in April they had a cute egg hunt and breakfast for the kids. Not quite as many eggs as the one we used to go to in Texas, but we liked this one more since it was so much less crowded! Tyler caught on quickly to what he was supposed to do and was so excited when he figured out there was candy inside all of his eggs.  And Brayden was a pro this year and was so nice to share some of his eggs after the hunt with a girl who got there late and didn't get any. It was definitely a fun way to start off the Easter weekend!

Easter Eggs and Cookies

We made some Easter cookies the week before Easter. I tried a new recipe for both the cookie and the frosting and it was not so good. But the boys loved it and had fun decorating them.

Tyler was a happy boy! :)
We colored easter eggs too during Guy's lunch break one day. This is the day I vow to never dye eggs with a 2 year old again! It was a slight disaster because of course he wanted to do it all by himself so eggs were getting cracked right and left and dye was everywhere. Next year I am totally doing this idea I found online. You take a colander over a shallow pan and splash one egg inside of it with vinegar. Then you put a drop or two in of different food colors and the kids just swish it around in there until the eggs are filled with colors. Sounds so easy and not messy. I like it!

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter!
We had such a fun Easter Weekend. We started it off by heading to an Easter egg-stravaganza on Saturday morning where Brayden got to do an easter egg hunt along with lots of other activities!
Meeting the Easter Bunny!
He got to check out this cool fire truck up close!
This was the field of eggs for his age group! Lots to grab!
He was so excited to get going!
Here he is after with all of his eggs!
On Saturday night we decided we better dye some easter eggs before easter. Brayden loved coloring on them with the white crayon before he put them in
Workin' on a few eggs at once
Look at all our eggs!
Brayden woke up Easter morning very excited to see if the Easter bunny had come. He did a great job finding his Easter basket and he helped Tyler find his too! Here he is collecting all the eggs that the Easter bunny hid around the house!
Lookin' pretty cool
Little Ty is the perfect size!
All dressed up for church
Looking so handsome in their Easter clothes
Me and the boys
Guy and the boys
This is the best we could do for a family shot all by ourselves!
At night we went and had dinner at the Southwicks and Brayden went on another egg hunt with his best buddy! He will sure miss her when they move this summer :(
