Our trip is finally here and I am SO ready! It still doesn't really seem real that we are going and it probably won't until I am on a plane and on my way. Guy is leaving tomorrow and I will join him in a week after his work conference so we can play! A HUGE thank you in advance to my parents for watching our boys so we can do this. We appreciate it SO much and it will be so nice to not have to worry about them while we are there. Now if we can just survive the 15+ hour flight then we will be set. I have my doubts since I get sick of flying after just a 3 hour flight to Oregon...then again this is the first time I have flown without entertaining kids in 4 years so I might just enjoy it! :)
The Ocean floor will still remain a mystery to me but I am totally ok with that! I tried out scuba diving and decided it was so not for me. It was really fun in a pool and I think everyone should experience it once in their life just to try it out and see what its like to breathe underwater. But as I was sitting 8 feet down on the bottom of the pool, I could not even imagine being 30 or more feet underwater doing this. I kept wanting to hold my breathe and seriously had to tell myself to breathe or I wouldn't! So I will wave to Guy from up above as I snorkel the surface. I have never even snorkeled before so it's probably better that I start there! And it sounds like the water is crystal clear so I'm sure I'll still get to see lots of cool stuff...
Finally, I've decided Australian money is way cooler than ours. We just picked up the cash we switched over
at the bank and I can't stop staring at it. It's just so colorful and pretty! Every bill is a different color, size, and it has different pictures on the front and back. And each one has a clear plastic cutout that you can see through. I've never been outside the United States or really seen any foreign money in person so this is cool to me. I wish I could save some but that would just be silly, so I took pictures of it so we can remember!
A close-up of the clear part...cool huh!
I'm pretty excited to soon be surrounded by Australian accents because I love them and pretty much my main goal is to see a Kangaroo. I'm not sure how common it is to see them, especially at the parts of the country we are going to, but I will be on the lookout. And if I see one, I will be one happy girl! Fingers crossed :)
