We miss you Riley!

Since our trip to Oregon in August, all we have heard about from Brayden is all about his cousin Riley! Not a prayer goes by without him in it and if we forget to bless Riley, Brayden will whisper it to us to remind us. It's too bad he's all the way in Idaho, but maybe we'll end up closer someday! :)

Tiny Tots

I have Brayden signed up in a fun tiny tots gymnastic class once a week with his good friend Logan.
*** Can you tell I'm trying to fit a lot in with Brayden before baby #2 arrives? :) ***
But it really has been a lot fun and Brayden is absolutely loving it. He's in a class with about 6 other boys his age so you can imagine the craziness! But that's the best way with 2 year olds! :) Brayden loves the trampoline the best and swinging on the rope into the colorful pit!

Our addiction

Guy and I have become garage sale addicts since we moved here. We scope out when neighborhoods are having their community sales and then can practically just go door to door. It sure beats spending a fortune on everything new and we've found a lot of cool stuff for some really great deals. I'm always surprised at some things that people are getting rid of for so cheap! I love it! Here are some of our latest finds! A bassinet for the new baby for $10! yay!
kids soccer goal for $2
Glass lemonade jar $2
Storage things $5 pottery barn kids dog pics $5

White bookshelf $3

It's a jungle out there!

Our backyard has become a small wildlife habitat...seriously! It's home to a whole family of bunnies and we've even found quite a large ant hill that is taking over, among other things. So this Saturday was the day we decided to take it back and claim it as our own! We finally got a lawn mower and mowed that mess! Earlier that morning we found Brayden his own little bubble blower at a garage sale for a buck so he thought it was pretty cool to be "helping" dad mow! I decided the cute bunnies can stay, but the ants have got to go! I can't wait to start using the space now!

Soccer

Brayden just started his first soccer class this week. It was very entertaining, to say the least, to see a bunch of 2 year olds kicking little soccer balls around. I was just cracking up the whole time! Brayden LOVED it and its been all we've heard about the whole week! In his class, they learned how to sit on the ball to listen to the coach, kick a goal, and kick it back and forth to their moms. I'll have to try to take pictures next week. We took Brayden to get his very own soccer ball last night and I found him in bed sleeping with it! He cracks me up!

A Sunday afternoon tradition...

Like father like son!

My Grandma's 76th Birthday!

My Grandma R was able to be here for her 76th birthday on Friday. We were invited to a fun party over at the Southwicks complete with dinner, cake, games, and even silly string. We had a great time and it was fun to spend time with my grandma since we don't see her very often anymore. She really is an amazing person and someone who I hope to become like someday! We sure love you Grandma! :)

"pretend" birthday

Brayden loves to help cook and has been helping me lots in the kitchen this last week! I decided to make brownies for our dessert one night and as he was stirring them up he asked me if this was his birthday cake and immeadiately starting singing himself "happy birthday!" It made me laugh so I decided why not and so we had a "pretend" birthday party for him when daddy came home. Who says you can't celebrate being 2 years and 4 months? :)

Labor Day

Well, our labor day started off a little rocky but got better as the day went on. I got a call soon after Guy left for work that he had gotten in a car crash and I needed to come pick him up. I was freaking out (since thats all he told me) and rushed over there. His car was totaled but luckily he was fine. That's all that matters anyways... just a car right! So our '98 indestructible Nissan Maxima is no longer with us! We'll be a 1 car family for awhile so we'll see how that goes. But I feel very blessed that no one was hurt in the accident and that Guy was able to come home safe and sound! I took some pictures of his car on my cell phone but I have no clue how to put them on the computer. I'll have to figure that out...

Anyways, we decided to make the most of our day after that exciting morning and decided to do something fun. We went to a fun park and did a nature hike which was super hot. The scenery didn't quite compare to Oregon but it was pretty for Texas and we had a good time. Afterwards we went to a really cute frozen custard place that was so yummy. Reminded me of places I used to stop with my Grandpa Richardson on the way home from our Saturday Hocking Hills trips in Ohio as a kid. We came home and took naps and then went to our neighborhood pool to swim at night. I am loving that it has a fun kiddie pool so I can "supervise" from the side!

So not quite how we expected our labor day to go but it turned out ok. We're just counting our blessings! :)
