Weekly Update 2/27-3/7

I decided that I'm gonna try to update my blog weekly for a little while and see how it goes. Life has just been so busy lately and there's just a million things I'd rather be doing then sitting on the computer and updating my blog all the time. Especially since the weather is finally starting to get warm here...I swear the sun didn't shine the whole month of February!! So here's the highlights from our last week.. Like I said earlier, Brayden LOVED the Olympics. He was beyond devasted when the U.S. lost the hockey game to Canada. He asked me if they would have another chance and when I said no, he pretty much lost it. And then when he found out that the Olympics were over it just about did him in. He cried for a long time about it. Poor kid! :(
Our zoo pass expired last weekend so we used the opportunity to go to the zoo one last time. We won't be renewing it since we'll be moving in August to somewhere unknown...still. Anyways the highlight of the trip for Brayden was we let him walk. I usually make him sit in our double stroller but we had a flat tire when we pulled it out of the car so he was happy to get his way! Plus he had some fun pushing Tyler around. What a good big bro! It was fun to see the elephants drinking the water while we were there. Brayden was fascinated by it so we stayed and watched for awhile
And Tyler was just happy to be out of his stroller! :)
Goodbye zoo...hopefully the next place we move to will have a fun zoo! We'll keep our fingers crossed!
Tyler is becoming quite mischeivious lately. He loves to dump everything out of things and then climb inside. He is still not walking but has gotten very good at standing up and balancing. I'm anxious for him to figure it out because he really is heavy! Plus it'll make it easier to play outside once he's walking. If he's still crawling when he's in shorts then he'll probably cut up his knees when he's outside ya know. I'm hoping that when we are in Oregon next week for our visit with Guy's family that his little friend Gwen will teach him how! ;)
He found all my headbands in the bathroom under the sink and looked so cute putting them on! He was making me laugh because he was so happy when I put them on his head. Its a good thing Guy wasn't home for our headband dress up! :) Man, I need a girl huh! We've been having so much fun at the parks this week. The weather has been perfect so we've taken full advantage of it. We live right by a nature preserve with a playground and a really fun trail. The path is a little over a mile long and Brayden walked the whole thing! Well, he started out riding his scooter but I should have known it wouldn't last the whole time. He quit after 5 minutes. So I tried to push Tyler and Brayden's scooter for the rest of the way which was difficult because I am not coordinated at all. And I really hadn't planned on doing the whole path with the kids but I missed the shortcut so we were stuck. But we made it fun and found lots of sticks to throw into the water over all the bridges. And we met so many cute dogs which got both the boys excited. Tyler would point and start going crazy every time he saw one coming. It was adorable! We spend most of our time at the playgrounds on the swings. Both the boys love them and Brayden is learning how to pump his legs and keep his swing moving. Tyler just laughs the whole time and it keeps me laughing the whole time too because baby laughs are just SO contagious! I love them! I just love kids...its the simple things that make them happy
Brayden loves to push Ty in the swing...look at that great form! :)
This is another cute story from the park. There was this little hill that brayden spotted and he wanted to try to run down it as fast as he could and win the "gold medal." So I told him to go for it and the first time he ran down he got going so fast that he totally wiped out at the bottom. I expected him to start crying but he looked at me and said, "It's ok, I'm tough mom. I can do this so I'm going to try again!" So he ran back up the hill and did it again without falling. It was so cute and I was so proud of him for trying again and being tough!
The best thing about the nice weather and playing outside is that it gets all my kids energy out so they are wiped out! I love it! Brayden has even been taking naps sometimes again and by bedtime they both go to bed so much easier! It's been heaven!
Of course they seriously can never take a nap at the same time which drives me crazy. All I want is an hour of peace and quiet...is that too much to ask? It was driving Tyler crazy that Brayden was asleep and he seriously would not leave him alone. He just figured out this week how to climb on his bed so he is always up there looking out the window now. And of course trying to wake up his brother.
Here's Ty being silly in the car. He kept putting the spoon in his mouth and letting go and then he would laugh and laugh and see how long he could keep it in. Seriously all this boy needs is a plastic spoon to keep him happy! I should have just wrapped that up for his birthday!
Brayden has been playing soccer these last few weeks and has been loving it. He's on the kickin' koyotes team and has been having one practice a week and then a game on the weekend. It's seriously great entertainment to watch a bunch of 3-4 year olds play soccer! Let's just say the majority of the goals scored are in the other teams goal no matter how loud all the parents are yelling for them to kick it the other way! :) Guy and I have already encountered some over the top parents yelling at their kids to step it up and go after the ball and things like that. It's pretty silly. I mean the kids are 3. They have no clue what they are doing!!! But Brayden loves it and loves being part of a team.
Last night, Guy and Brayden went to the BYU-TCU basketball game and had some boy time. Brayden was so excited to go with just daddy and spend time with him.
Ty also discovered he could climb up Brayden's step stool in the bathroom now. I guess I'll have to put that up now so he doesn't fall off and get hurt. But its been pretty funny to see how excited he gets when he makes it to the top. He can just barely see over the top of the counter and into the mirror.

Waving at himself
Cleaning the sink

And this is the mess you get when you give Ty just one chocolate chip cookie with seriously like 5 chocolate chips in it!
So thats our week in a nutshell. We're off to Oregon next week to visit Guy's family and friends so we are very excited about that. And my sister Kelly is coming out to visit us and play the week after so March is looking like its going to be a great month! I love having fun things to look forward to! :)

Last day of Soccer :(

Yes, I realize I should probably change the name of my blog to the "life of Brayden" because he is seriously the star of every post. But I guess thats just how it is when you have kids... suddenly you have no life anymore and it just revolves around them. It's great! So today was his last day of his indoor soccer class. The kids played a game against the moms, if you want to call it a game. It was mostly each kid trying to get the ball all for themselves in any way possible while the moms broke up the battles! Five 2 year olds and only 1 ball means trouble! So the coach gave up and decided to all let them have their own balls back which solved everything! It was very fun and they each got a little soccer ball and a snack after which Brayden thought was so cool.

2 little goalies!
Scoring a goal! Yay!

He also got this yellow dress... i mean t-shirt...for signing up for the class that he literally won't take off. Now that soccer is over maybe I can hide it until it actually fits him! :)

Soccer

Brayden just started his first soccer class this week. It was very entertaining, to say the least, to see a bunch of 2 year olds kicking little soccer balls around. I was just cracking up the whole time! Brayden LOVED it and its been all we've heard about the whole week! In his class, they learned how to sit on the ball to listen to the coach, kick a goal, and kick it back and forth to their moms. I'll have to try to take pictures next week. We took Brayden to get his very own soccer ball last night and I found him in bed sleeping with it! He cracks me up!
