The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef was amazing. It's seriously a whole different world down there and we had fun being able to explore it. We went out with a company called Aristocat and had a great time.
It took us about an hour and a half to get out to the reef again and it was gorgeous. We had pretty good weather that day and the water was such an amazing color. I've never been out in the middle of the Ocean like this before so I was a little nervous jumping in. But once I did and stuck my head in, I couldn't take me head out!
I absolutely love how nerdy you look with snorkeling gear on.
It's awesome!
Yes, I opted for the noodles to help me. Very nice!
And now I will be posting 5 million pictures of under the water...Guy was the photographer and he got some good ones. Loved the Great Barrier Reef and loved how much fun we had that day. It is truly one of God's greatest masterpieces!

We found Nemo!
I thought it was very fitting since we were in Australia like in the movie! :)

Guy's Scuba Trip to the GBR

When I called Guy to tell him that I missed my flight, it was luckily early enough in the morning that he was able to book a spot on the Poseidon boat to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef. I was glad he had something to keep him busy that day and he had a great time. The Great Barrier Reef was AMAZING!
On the boat headed to the dive sites. You have to go out about an hour and a half to get to the Agincourt ribbon reef, which are the best sites to dive and snorkel at.
He went on a really cloudy day and the water was really rough. He said he got so seasick on the way out there and thought he was going to throw up. But luckily he didn't and was able to dive with no problems!
Guy and his dive partner

These pics are kind of hard to see but Guy was able to see a Minke Whale. So rare to see! You can see these whales during June, July and August as they pass the coast of Australia on their migration path. They saw it before he was down scuba diving so he threw on some snorkel gear and hopped in to try to take a picture. He didn't get too close (of course) so these aren't the best pictures but you can tell its a whale at least :)

Here's a better view of what they look like that I got off google. So cool huh! He saw lots of other cool stuff too like sting rays and amazing fish but the whale was by far the highlight!
