Last Day of 1st Grade

 I didn't get very many pictures on the last day of school, but I did manage to get one of Brady with his teacher, Mrs. Mitchell. She was the best!

First Grade Teacher Gifts

Brady loved his first grade teacher so much. She really was the best! So we put together a few teacher gifts at the end of the school year to show her how much we appreciated all the hard work and love she had shared with us. 

I found this idea on pinterest, but we found a cute plastic reusable cup with a lid and straw and inside we put chapstick, sunscreen, little packs of lemonade drink powder, and an itunes gift card for some tunes for the summer :)

 I volunteered to make a slideshow of all the class photos from the year for the kids to watch in class on the last day of school.  It turned out really cute and I went ahead and made a copy for each of the kids to have as a memory of such a great year.  I also put all the pictures from the slideshow in a book for the teacher and had all the kids write her a little note in it as they were going around signing each others yearbooks on the last day. She  absolutely loved it so it was worth all the time it took :)

It was quite a stack of DVDS to make. He had a huge class this year!

HIKE

Hiking with our boys. We never make it very far with all the rocks, sticks, and nature that distract them  every few feet, but it's always a fun thing to do together. Love them!

Real Life Hot Wheel Car

Ty saw this car at the mall parking lot and went crazy. "Mom, it's just like my hot wheel car! And it's GREEN, my favorite color!" He basically thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Les Miserables on BROADWAY

Oh man, I loved this day. Guy gave me tickets to see Les Mis on Broadway in Denver with him. I was SO excited. I seriously was counting down the days until we could go. And it was even better then I hoped it would be. Sure, we had cheap seats way in the balcony... but we had binoculars so it was all ok! This is probably my favorite broadway play and even though a lot of people have mixed reviews about the movie, I really liked it. Love you Guy, you are the best!!!

Denver ZOO Field Trip with the 1st Graders

 Ty and I got to tag along with BB's 1st Grade class for their last field trip of the school year, to the Denver Zoo.  I give major props to his teacher because first graders are crazy!!! They wore me out, but we sure had fun and it was fun that Tyler could come along too :)

Basically....

I love these guys!!!

They sure know how to pull out the cuteness at bedtime to stay up later.

I'll admit it works, they are good :)

Melissa is Here!

My sister Melissa came to visit us in Colorado. Oh my gosh, I love that girl. We had so much fun together and I was SO sad to see her leave.  My boys truly adore her and had so much fun with her here too!

We went to Casa Bonita, the "dive" restaurant while she was here. It's not in great shape and the food is honestly not good, but it's all about the memories. We used to stop here every time we drove from Ohio to Utah growing up.  As a kid, this place was so awesome so it's fun to revisit it :)

Ty rode on one of the little rides at the restaurant and somehow all the tokens started spilling out of it. It was hilarious! I guess that just shows what kind of shape this place is in haha :)

Melissa came up with a fun "throwing stuffed animals" game that my boys LOVED. And we spent a day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs and loved how many animals we saw up close. This bear was swimming right in front of us which was really cool.

 Garden of the Gods...awesome as always. The boys had fun showing her around :)

I wish I had taken more pictures while she was here, but I guess we were having too much fun so I forgot to take the camera out.  But I guess that just means she needs to come back!!! Love you Melissa!!!

BB is SEVEN!!!!

Every year I say this, and every year it is true. HOW IS HE GETTING SO BIG? Seriously 7 is sooooo big! He has grown up so much this last year and is becoming such an amazing little boy. He is smart, funny, kind, caring, and so so so special to me. I love hanging out with him and I'm just grateful I've got to be his mommy for the last 7 years.  He changed my world and I've loved the journey! 

The night before his birthday he got to open one present...a minecraft shirt to wear to school the on his birthday. My boys are obsessed with mine craft so he was really excited!

 For his birthday I made him a camping cake. My sister Melissa was in town and she helped me make it. We had so much fun!

 For his birthday we went to Chatfield State Park and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. The Southwicks and Melissa were there too so it was really fun!

 He called this his smore sub sandwich :)

All in all he had a great birthday and it was fun to celebrate his special day. So happy he is part of our family. He makes life fun!!!!
