The Rest of August

Lots of randomness from the rest of our August
This is my view when I turn around in Guy's truck. Ryan's little toes!
 Asleep on his zebra
Guy took the challenge and ran up the Manitou incline in Colorado Springs. It's an old incline railway trail that washed out during a rock slide in 1990. So now people just use it for fitness purposes and it's tough. It inclines over 2000 feet in less then a mile, crazy! A lot of people from the air force base and olympic training center use it to train. I think Guy almost died on it!

I took the boys on a short hike in Ken Caryl and we saw a few deer. Even a baby fawn!
Hanging out in a shade spot at the park. All my boys need are rocks or sticks and they are happy as can be.
 Ty making a wish
I love these 3. They were racing at the park and this was their victory lap.
Another baby giraffe at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

There's an orangutan under there. He kept putting his blanket over his head and playing peek a boo with us. It was awesome!
And finally a baby gorilla who was cracking us up. He kept bugging his mom until he got a reaction from her. Looked exactly like what goes on at my house ;)

First Day of 2nd Grade

I don't even know how it happened, but my Brady is in 2nd grade now! It just blows my mind to think about it.  He was so happy that he got to go back to the same school for 2nd grade and he even has a few friends from last year in his class. That made me really happy because changing schools when we moved from Florida was really hard for him. We are still living the hotel life so we took his first day of school pictures at a park by his school instead of our usual front porch shots. Sad, but hopefully we'll be moving in soon!
His teacher, Mrs. Cundy, is SO nice. I am so happy he is in her class!

I Love Dillon CO

School starts next week (why so early Colorado??), so we spent our last weekend doing something fun. Guy has a friend with a place in Dillon so he let us stay there for the weekend and relax. Let me tell you it was heaven! It honestly made me want to move to the mountains, if only I wasn't so terrified about how awful the winters would be up there. Well that and bears! Anyway we relaxed, rode bikes, fished, hiked and basically just enjoyed every second of it.

View from the place we were staying
This was the best day. We just hung out by the lake and let the kids throw rocks in it and get good and dirty. They were in heaven. Our kids are really easy to please!
 Views from our hike
Guy and Brady went on a bike ride around the lake while Ryan napped

A Daytrip to Estes Park

We decided to drive to Estes Park for the day. We still need to plan a camping trip there, but that will have to be postponed until next summer, when our camping stuff is out of storage. I love doing things like this with our boys, it just feels good to get away from claustrophobic suburbia!
We saw the cutest little Elk family running down the street across from the visitors center in Estes Park.    A dad, mom and baby. They caused quite the commotion as everyone tried to get pictures of them...us included!

We drove through a few campsites and scoped out future ones we wanted to try to stay at. BB spotted a deer at the one we decided was the perfect spot. It was fate. We'll be back little deer :)

It was kind of an overcast, rainy day while we were there, but that didn't stop us from going on a little hike around the lake. It was beautiful there!

3 boys in a tree. I love them!
