Since fireworks were canceled in Highlands Ranch because of all the fires this year, we tried to find somewhere we could go to see them. So we decided to go to Vail, since we had never been in the summer and it would be a nice little getaway as a family. We started out our trip watching the cute little parade they have there. It was really fun, but too spaced out so we ended up leaving before it was over. Next time we need to find seats in the shade!
Waiting for the parade to start
These 2 are huge parade fans
This one...not so much. Ty hates parades! Every year he asks us when it will be over after like 5 minutes. This year he just fell asleep in the stroller :)
This year was Vail's 50th anniversary so it was a big party!
Ryan was so tired after the parade that he fell asleep in the hiking pack. Poor kid, naps on the go!
We found the cutest, most festive older couple in the world. They were so much fun!
Our balcony where we were staying. It was awesome!
The boys did a little swimming while Ryan took a nap with me. Ty loved the squiggly pool noodles there.

Cute brothers
We went on a drive to check out all the mansion houses and I fell in love with all these bright colorful flowers at one house. Seriously that would make me so happy to have a yard like that!
And a random fox ran past our car when we driving up there. The boys thought it was the best thing ever.
Hanging out in the hotel room...Ty is not happy that BB has the iPad.
On our way to watch fireworks. The boys were SO excited!
Minus the waiting part. I think that is why Ty doesn't love the 4th of July. Too much waiting he says. I get that.
Brady played cards with dad while they waited. I didn't get any picture of the show, we were too busy enjoying it!
On our drive home from Vail, we stopped at an old train museum. We totally got in trouble there because we didn't see the signs saying you couldn't climb on it. The guy came out furious and got so mad at us and we felt really bad but they had one sign that was on a column facing the other way. It was easy to miss. Oops!
All in all, it was a great, low key fourth of July. It was actually kind of fun going away for it and we made lots of memories as a family. Definitely a fun trip!
