Drive-In's are Cool!

We took the kids to their first drive-in movie last weekend.  Guy and I used to go all the time when we lived in Arizona but haven't been since then.  I love them! I've decided it's the only way we can attempt to see a movie with young kids.  Tyler will not sit through them but really what 15 month old will unless you get really lucky and they sleep through it. But we never get that lucky!

We saw Shrek 3 and Iron Man 2 for $12 total. It was $6 each for Guy and I and then the kids were free. Isn't that an awesome deal!! I was wishing we had a bigger car though so we could laid down in the back of it, but we just pulled out our camping chairs and used those.  And when the kids got bored with the movie they would collect rocks and dig in the dirt.  I was hoping that they would both fall asleep by the time Iron Man came on but Brayden wouldn't go to sleep. So yes, my 4 year old watched all of Iron Man but what can you do. He loved it! I guess we'll need to find a drive-in in Florida if we want to see any movies there...
I've decided that I am posting so much this week because I have a to-do list a mile long and I am really trying my hardest to avoid it! :) Cleaning, laundry, packing, running errands....yuck! I guess I better stop procrastinating...

Little Avatar Boy

This is what happens when Tyler colors with chalk on our balcony...His legs turn blue! :)
He still has the chubbiest feet ever! I love them but it sure makes it hard to find shoes that fit!!!

Sunday Walk

I love Sunday walks in the evening.  It's already pretty hot here and it doesn't really cool down much until the sun goes down but we still had fun. We went to the nature preserve by our house and walked the one mile trail there. Luckily, it has a lot of shade so that was nice. We let Ty try out the little red car that we bought for Brayden a few years ago from a garage sale.  Brayden is way too big for it now but was very excited to push Tyler the whole way.  He did a pretty good job except for a few "let go" moments where we had to chase after Ty as he was rolling down the hill alone! :)  BB tripped and skinned his knee halfway through the walk so he got to ride on daddy's shoulders for the last little bit. It makes me laugh how his crying always increases when he sees that his knee is  bleeding...it all of a sudden hurts more!
I love little moments like these where we can do things together as a family! It makes me happy! :)

Morning Play Time

I am SO not a morning person at all. I literally stay in my bed as long as I can until these little boys wake me up. Sadly, they usually wake up pretty early so I'm up way before I want to be. But lately they have been doing something that I love and I hope they do it forever!! When Brayden wakes up, he climbs into Tyler's crib and he brings lots of toys and books in there with him.  So I wake up hearing 2 little boys laughing and playing together. I LOVE IT! I just lay in my bed and listen to them and it just makes me smile.  They do this for about a half hour (if I'm really lucky) and then they both start yelling "MOM" (or as Ty says, "MAAAA") until I roll out of bed and come get them.  I love waking up to this and I love staying in bed a little longer! Please let it never stop!!! :)

Moving to Sunshine!

Well, the Sunshine state to be exact...can't get any more sunny then that!!! We've known for awhile that we would be moving "somewhere" the end of this summer but we didn't know where it would be. I was getting kind of nervous because there are truly a few states that I wouldn't be too excited to call home, if you know what I mean. But I am happy to say that we found out that we will be spending the next year and a half in FLORIDA! We are SO excited about this...I mean how could we not be when we'll right by the beach and not too far from Mickey's house! I guess the only downside is we will still be far away from family, but maybe since we're in Florida we can get a few visitors...free place to stay for anyone who wants to come! Of course we need to find a place for you to come to first!  :)

I must admit that I am getting a little sad though because we really will miss it here. Texas has been our home for 3 years. It's where Tyler was born and where Brayden went from 1 to 4! There are memories everywhere and it turns out I really ended up liking it. We made some great friends. And some great memories. So we're sad to say goodbye, but we really are excited for a new adventure.

So that's our big news! We are moving in August so its coming up really quick. It's pretty crazy and I am slightly stressing out since pretty much our whole month of June is Australia stuff. So much to do and so little time! But we will manage it all and hopefully we can find a place to live quickly once we get there!

Dinosaur Party

Brayden chose to have a dino party for his 4th birthday. We celebrated just the four of us, but it was still fun to decorate the house and do everything dinosaur style.  Brayden helped and colored a bunch of pictures out of his dinosaur coloring book that I cut out and put up. He did a great job!
He was very excited about opening presents and opened them all with a huge smile!
I've come up with a great birthday wrapping paper idea. Buy the character christmas paper after Christmas when it all goes on sale and then save it for birthdays. Brayden was excited to have all his presents wrapped in Cars and didn't even notice they were all wearing santa hats and were surrounded by snowflakes! :)
Stegosaurus Cake
He originally told me he wanted a volcano cake with lava pouring out and dinosaurs all around it. Ya, I talked him out of that one. I looked up how to make volcano cakes and they didn't seem very easy or edible.  So we convinced him a stegosaurus cake was really cool because it was the only cake I could find that looked easy enough for my beginner skills. I'm really a 9 x 13  kind of cake maker! :)

Brayden had a great birthday and it was fun to see him so happy :)

FOUR years old!

I am trying to figure out how our sweet boy went from this....
to this!!!
I can't believe he is FOUR years old today!
We have been telling him that he's not allowed to turn four... he has to stay 3 forever and ever. This morning the first thing he said to me was "Guess what Mom. I turned four and you couldn't stop me!" So funny! I guess I can't stop him from growing up, but I just wish it wouldn't happen so darn fast!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BB!
We sure love you buddy!

First Father/Son Campout

Brayden went on his first church Father/Son campout this weekend. To say he was excited about it is a total understatement. He literally drove me insane on Friday asking me every 2 seconds when Daddy was coming home so they could go. Everytime he heard a car outside he would run to the window to see if it was Guy. So, I was very relieved by the time Guy got home and they were off to finally start camping.

The house was SO quiet with just me and Ty (it was heaven) and I seriously had forgotten how easy it was to just take care of one kid! It was kind of fun to spend the one-on-one time with each of the boys. We need to do this more often I think!

I told Guy to take a few pictures so here's what he came up with...
A bunch of his friends came too so they had some fun together
Brayden called me before he went to sleep and told me everything they had been up to. He was so excited that he was sleeping in a tent and that he got to make smores. It was pretty cute to talk to him on the phone since I never get to...usually I'm just with him.
I will admit I'm pretty excited for when Ty gets a little older and I can send him off to the father/son campouts too! :)

Boys Like Dirt

They just can't help it! Mine can't stay away.
I cleaned out the car while they got good and dirty. Someday maybe we'll live in a place where they have a decent place to dig but for now its the apartment landscaping by us...sorry boys! But really, they didn't seem to mind.
Dirt is dirt...even with a little bit of mulch mixed in! :)
Maybe a sand box would be a good investment for the future though??

Dumping it all out!
I'm sure our apartment loves us for digging up their landscaping but we're
moving out in a few months. Not too worried about it :)

Getting dirty is lots of fun!!!
